How it all started
The Italian Bakery established in 1960 was built on family fundamentals. Antonio and Aurora Frattin started it all by bringing their family traditions from humble beginnings in Italy. The business started in a little shop on 93 Street and as the business grew, the bakery moved to our current downtown location on 97 street in 1962. Family involvement has been the key ingredient to the success of the Italian Bakery. As the family and business grew, we decided to open a second location to focus as a wholesale plant and retail store in Beverly on 118 Avenue in 1985 and underwent an expansion in 2009. The Italian Bakery holds family and community close to our hearts and we have been meaningfully involved in the community since our doors opened. See our history in print here.
